Tony Hawk 5: The new hope

This is good news for all you Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fans out there! Robomodo, the developer of THPS5 has some good things in store for us! From what I’ve gathered, it seems the release-day patch (despite its size) was primarily to get the multiplayer part working, and now it is time for the actual content update!

Robomodo has mentioned new levels, hopefully more like the older games in the series, and new playable characters. This also includes fixing the gravity-defying slam to only do it’s thing when you double-tap the triangle button, something that should make grinding a bit less of a pain for THPS old-timers.

Sadly, the troll squad is at it on twitter sounding more like someone’s boss than anything else. Calling the developers names, congratulating them on the suckiness and being first class asses in general. “We need to talk about your THPS reports. We’re putting new coversheets on all the THPS reports before they go out now. So if you could go ahead and try to remember to do that from now on, that’d be great. Mmmmkay.” (bonus points for nailing the reference!) I agree that things could have been executed a bit smoother, such as the game actually being ready and done on release date, but that doesn’t change the fact that massive fixes like this takes time.

So all of you THPS fans that would like to see a shiny, well polished next gen Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game, go ahead and follow @Robomodo on twitter and give them at least some positive nudges. Like this guy did:

Flinging poo at developers is not exactly promoting a happy response. Instead, fling them some love and stay tuned for the update! It has been quiet from Robomodo and Activision lately, but it seems this Christmas might be coming with some proper grinding, decent levels and happy wheels!
